What Does our Future Hold?

While many disagree about how quickly our climate can change, or what changes have already occurred that can be attributed directly to greenhouse gas emissions, few can argue that smart planning NOW shouldn't be occurring to prepare our systems, infrastructure and populations to adapt to a changing climate. 

​The Camas Earth Day Society has both raised awareness and provided public feedback on the climate change element of Washington's Comprehensive Climate Action Plan (CCAP) by hosting a series of "Camas Community Conversations" in the summer of 2025. One of these sessions was on Climate Change and Comprehensive Planning. We also submitted written comments to Washington's Department of Commerce that touch on areas relative to Camas and the Comprehensive Plan requirements around Climate Change that need further attention.
